Aden Satellite Channel is a government channel affiliated with the Yemeni General Corporation for Yemeni Radio and Television.
The broadcast began on September 11th, 1964 (black and white), which came after the October 14 revolution in 1963.
The aim behind the opening of television in that period of British colonialism was to distract the masses of the Yemeni people from the British occupancy.
After revolution and the Yemeni unity on the twenty-second of May 1990, Yemeni television became one of two channels, the first in Sanaa and the second in Aden.
The second channel now plays an influential role in the life of Yemeni society, and viewers are keen to receive and follow its programs. Its audience includes a number of Yemeni governorates, and the broadcast is being expanded successively to the various Yemeni governorates independently of specificities of each tribes and regions.

This channel can be received in the all Middle East and North Africa region, through the Eutelsat/Nilesat 7°W satellite, and viewers can receive it for free.
