Sat.tv frequently asked questions

All you need is a satellite dish, pointed to 7/8° West or 13° East, a Sat.tv-compatible receiver (look for the Sat.tv logo on the box) and a USB Key to enjoy the full Sat.tv experience. For more information, check out the ‘Compatible receiver’ section.

Sat.tv is currently available across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Your antenna size will depend on where you are located. Check out the maps to see the minimum size of antenna that you’ll need for your location.

To take full advantage of the Sat.tv services, we recommend that you connect a USB key or external hard drive of at least 2GB to your Sat.tv receiver. This will enable you to:

• Load 7-day program grids with images
• Display all the channel logos and program genres
• Record several hours of films and TV programs

With Sat.tv you can access more than 500 films and 700 series episodes per week, on average – completely for free!

There are more than 30 sports channels available on Sat.tv, including coverage of football, basketball, horse and camel racing. There’s plenty of choice so you can follow your favorite events.

In the EPG page you can search for content by program genre and discover new channels that broadcast the kind of programs you like. For example, if you want to find something for your children to watch, Sat.tv displays all the programs available for them – including not just the channels in the Children’s category but also those from other categories that are broadcasting children’s programs.

You can also record programs from this page, using the PVR feature, so you don’t miss a thing.

Sat.tv is a collaborative platform, managed between Eutelsat and the channels broadcast by its satellites. Program information is provided by the channels, and they are responsible for its accuracy.
Sat.tv works closely with the channels to offer you the most accurate guide possible. Program information is automatically updated daily.

Program information is provided by the TV channels. Some channels have not provided their data yet.
The Sat.tv team is actively working with all the TV channels to achieve the most detailed Program Guide possible.

Yes. If you don’t use a USB key or external hard drive when installing your Sat.tv receiver, it will automatically be installed in Standard mode.
To install your Sat.tv receiver in Enhanced mode, simply plug in a USB key or external hard drive when installing the receiver. It will automatically be configured in Enhanced mode.

For optimal performance, insert a new USB key into the USB port of the Sat.tv receiver.
If you are using an old USB key that has already been used, it is strongly recommended to format the USB key using a computer.

• Insert your key in your computer
• Right-click with your mouse on the USB key icon
• Select ‘FORMAT’
• In the “File system” section, select ‘FAT32’ (available on Mac & PC)
• Click on “Start”
• Your USB drive is now formatted

Eject the key and reconnect it to your Sat.tv receiver.

• REMEMBER: formatting a USB key will delete any data currently on the key!

You can install and watch all the free-to-air channels available through the Eutelsat/Nilesat and HOTBIRD satellites, using your Sat.tv receiver, even if there are not part of the Sat.tv packages.
To retrieve these channels, go to Installation menu and install your satellite in Freescan mode. Channels will be displayed in the traditional way, by order of their satellite frequency. However, this will prevent you from benefitting from the Sat.tv experience.
