A French-Israeli television news channel that continually broadcasts rolling news events, i24 News Arabic is aimed primarily at Arabic speaking peoples and all the inhabitants of the Middle East. Based in Jaffa Port, Tel Aviv in Israel and being an essential part of the i24 News service that transmits its programmes in English and French, the news channel i24 News Arabic broadcasts its programs exclusively in the Arabic tongue. Sport, entertainment and culture are also presented on the programmes of i24 News Arabic.
As i24 News Arabic is aimed at a very specific target audience, the channel primarily covers the Israeli news and that of the Middle East. However, as it also deals with international news in general, i24 is comprised of 150 journalists from 35 different nations. Broadcasting its programmes continuously 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it benefits from the location of its Israeli headquarters, which allows it to be closer to that country’s news and its region. Broadcasting exclusively in Arabic, the channel aims to be accessible to a wide audience of over 250 million viewers.
The i24 News Arabic channel was founded in 2013 and is owned by the Altice media group. Launched by the Franco-Israeli businessman Patrick Drahi, the channel can justifiably claim to be a credible and authoritative alternative to the popular Al-Jazeera.
To expand its audience and be accessible to the greatest number, i24 News Arabic broadcasts throughout Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and the Mediterranean via the Hotbird satellites.
