IS SAT.TV A FREE-TO-AIR SERVICE?
The Sat.tv application is entirely free, just as the broadcasting of its bouquet which contains more than 400 TV channels carried on the HOTBIRD and Nilesat/Eutelsat 7W satellites..
HOW CAN I RECEIVE THE SAT.TV PLATFORM?
There is nothing easier than that. If you are located in an area covered by HOTBIRD and Nilesat/Eutelsat 7W satellites, all you need is a dish and a satellite receiver. For more details, watch the section “How to receive the bouquet”.
HOW DOES THE SAT.TV APPLICATION WORK ON THE TV SET?
The Sat.tv experience extends to the TV set. In order to benefit from this service, you need to download the sat.tv mobile app on your smartphone, create an account and access to the satellite channels through an HbbTV compatible smart-TV.
1 – Download Sat.tv mobile app on your smartphone or tablet. Create an account on the mobile app.
2 – Ensure that the “Sat.tv” channel is installed on your TV set. You can find this channel on Hotbird on the following frequency : 11.642, Horizontal (DVB-S2, 27.5 M.Symbols, FEC 3/4)
3 – Ensure that your TV set is connected to the Internet.
4 – Turn your TV on the “Sat.tv” channel; The TV app is launched automatically. For the first time, you will need to authenticate yourself on your TV set, with a simple code provided by the mobile app.
5 – On your TV set, find your favorites and personal recommendations that are about to start. Chose your program and zap on the requested channel directly from the TV app.
WHICH TYPE OF TV SET DO I NEED TO ACCESS THE “SAT.TV” TV APPLICATION?
To benefit from Sat.tv application on your TV, you need a smart-TV or set-top-box that is compatible with the HbbTV standard (the app is running on all versions of HbbTV). All smart-TV sold in the retail in Europe are embedding the HbbTV standard.
WHICH TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO I NEED TO RECEIVE THE TV CHANNELS?
To receive Sat.tv channels, all you need is a satellite decoder for free-to-air channels available at local retailers. For more details, watch the section “How to receive the bouquet”.

HOW HAVE CHANNELS AVAILABLE ON THE SAT.TV BOUQUET BEEN SELECTED?
HOTBIRD and Nilesat/Eutelsat 7W satellites are the orbital positions that are open to all TV channels. As a result, Sat.tv does not select the channels aired on their platform.
HOTBIRD’s extensive audience reach attracts the most important channels, both general and specialised channels, distributed from Europe, Russia, Middle East – North Africa, as well as from the rest of the world.
Nilesat / Eutelsat 7W’s large audience in Arabic-speaking countries attracts all Arabic-speaking channels, both general and specialised channels, distributed from the Middle East and North Africa.
Some channels in the mosaic view display the following sentence “The programme information is not yet available for this channel”. When will it be available?
Provision of program information falls within the responsibility of each channel. This means that the channels concerned have not yet provided details about their programmes.
Sat.tv teams are working proactively with all channels carried on HOTBIRD and Nilesat/Eutelsat 7W satellites in order to offer a TV guide as detailed as possible.

LINE-UP DATA ARE NOT ALWAYS ACCURATE. HOW CAN I OBTAIN MORE ACCURATE INFORMATION?
Sat.tv is a collaborative platform between Eutelsat and the channels carried on the HOTBIRD and Nilesat/Eutelsat 7W satellites. Accuracy of line-up related data falls within the responsibility of each channel. However, Sat.tv works in close coordination with TV channels in order to offer as accurate a guide as possible.

To set up an account on the Sat.tv application, we need a few personal details. This information is used to personalise the guide and offer the most appropriate content that will be aired on the HOTBIRD and Nilesat/Eutelsat 7W satellites.
This information will be used for no other purpose than to make you discover more content that could be interesting for you.
DOES THE SAT.TV APP CONTAIN ANY ADVERTISEMENT?
No, there is no advertising on the Sat.tv application. We may occasionally promote some channels and programmes that match your personalised profile.
