Like many Iraqi Kurdish media platforms, Kurdistan TV is owned and operated by the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). The television channels main bases are in the south of the autonomous community, but have established offices in the Netherlands and in Germany, helping the network maintain its vocation as an internationally recognised channel with content to match. Kurdistan TV strives to serve as a liaison between Iraqi Kurdistan and the rest of the world. It can be found on many satellite services, including Hot Bird, where it’s programming is available to viewers at no extra cost. The channel broadcasts mainly in Kurdish.
