Established in June 1995, Life TV is an Estonian interdenominational channel dedicated to Christianity. Since 2007, the channel has benefited from being broadcast through the Hot Bird satellite network to increase its audience in the Baltics and around the world. Life TV wants to reach as many people as possible in Estonia and abroad. Although Russian is the primary tongue of the TV station’s programmes, some are in English or have subtitles in that language, while a section of the schedules is also reserved for Estonian-language TV shows.

The ambition of the TV channel’s founder Valeri Rukovichkin is to allow viewers to hear the words of the Gospel. Life TV hopes to nourish Christians around the world with the word of God and help them to build their faith on the basis of a clear and comprehensive education.

To achieve its objectives, Life TV broadcasts around the clock, seven days a week. The channel offers topics for reflection and debate, as well as broadcasting news relating to the Orthodox and Catholic Churches. The schedules include shows in which invited guests give their views on aspects of their faith.

While religious programmes are the mainstay of the channel, it also finds time for entertainment aimed at a broad audience, regardless of age. Thus, in the mornings viewers can watch children’s shows and cartoons. During the day, documentaries alternate with music programmes, feature films and TV shows made in the United States.
